Stardom are coming off the back of running Korakuen Hall for the third time in just over a week, and on the latest of these shows, President Taro Okada laid out a roadmap for the remainder of the month by announcing no fewer than six title matches.
Addressing the Korakuen Hall crowd at their second ‘Nighter’ show on the 7th July, Okada made public the next challengers for the Red, White, Goddesses, New Blood, High Speed and Future titles.
It’s an Oedo Tai-heavy slew of challengers this month, with Natsuko Tora making official her challenge for Maika’s Red Belt in Sapporo on the 28th July. After taking the Goddess of Stardom Championships from FWC, Konami and Syuri will face off against the Oedo Tai team of Momo Watanabe and Thekla in their first defence; though this will be dependent on Thekla’s suspension after she attacked a reporter after the show. The team of Rina and Azusa Inaba will be next in line for Winggori as they look to end the near-300 day reign of the champions, while Rina will also be defending her Future of Stardom Championship against God’s Eye’s Ranna Yagami in a bid to become the most successful Future of Stardom champion ever.
Elsewhere, the intrigue surrounding the Wonder of Stardom Championship intensifies, with Natsupoi being announced as the challenger to the winner of Mika Iwata and Saori Anou’s rematch at Sendai Girls’ 15th July show.
After having Queen’s Quest ripped from her, defending her High-Speed Championship against Fukigen Death and advancing to the semi-finals of Pro Wrestling: Wave’s Catch the Wave tournament, it’s been a busy few weeks for Saya Kamitani, but her next challenger for her High-Speed Championship doesn’t get any easier; with her taking on former-champion Mei Seira!
