NEWS: Giulia Injured in Main Event of Marigold Fields Forever

Dream Star Fighting Marigold announced itself on the joshi scene last night with an excellent Marigold Fields Forever show in Korakuen Hall, the highlight of which was undoubtedly the incredible tag team main event of Giulia and Utami Hayashishita taking on Sareee and Bozilla.

Though being Marigold’s first truly classic match, this didn’t come without its downside, as it was announced early on Tuesday morning by Marigold’s Japanese Twitter account that ‘Crazy Charisma’ Giulia sustained an injury during the match.

In backstage photographs she was pictured wearing strapping on her right wrist, and with this morning’s announcement came confirmation that she has actually fractured that wrist. The tweet would go on to clarify that the fracture was actually a ‘distal radius fracture’ – an injury that ordinarily carries a 5-6 week recovery time – which appears to force her out of action for the entirety of the upcoming Grand Opening Wars tour which begins on the 26th May in Shin-Kiba 1st RING. Should all go well with rehabilitation however, Giulia should still be fit for Marigold’s first foray into Ryogoku Kokugikan for ‘Summer Destiny 2024’ where it was announced that she would take on Sareee in singles action following Monday’s aforementioned main event.

More upsettingly, the injury rules her out of the upcoming Hana Kimura Memorial Show which takes place at Korakuen on Thursday 23rd May, a show where Giulia was scheduled to battle VENY in singles action. During the announcement video for Giulia’s participation on the show, she spoke about how she had waited to be a part of the Memorial shows, with this being set to be her first appearance, which makes the untimely injury all that more cruel.
